We read the phrase “back to nature” when really, we belong to nature. Growing up on a farm in the present city of Burlington, I heard birds singing, saw crops growing, all in my Grandma’s garden. Working in my studio with window views on my own garden, I attempt to eliminate the barriers between human-kind and nature. We are all one on this Earth.

Nature offers art in the urban setting. Often during the drive to my day job, an idea as simple as a wrought-iron fence will present itself. A line of birds on a wire or a robin strutting on fresh green grass will soon join in the mix. The harmony between the two will be realized as I begin to compose the scene in my mind’s eye.

My early work was in oils and charcoal. For ten years I took commissions painting in clients’
homes, decorating their walls with murals and quotations. During that time, I also successfully ran instructional classes in the Folk Art style. But my true love of realism called to me and now I work exclusively in acrylic on canvas and wood.

I've placed some of my work for viewing here and my latest gallery show information as well.
